Hello!!!! Am back into the blogging world after 2 months... hee
So here's some of the update from the last entry (April Fool's day):
Have being accepted in Singapore Institute of Management for Bach. in Healthcare (Nursing). The course starts July 25. Am scheduled for morning classes.
Yup, din manage to get the $7k courage fund for the course. damn damn damn.
Finally am going on my family trip in July before my degree course. Tour is confirmed liao coz managed to get at least 10pax for the trip.
Being to the PC show, finally bought my digital camera Sony T30 instead of Canon's. coz the salesperson for canon at the fair sucks.
Happy birthday to zhen's girl!!!! born on april fool's day, hahahah!!!
Aiyo, still cracking my head on what to buy for her. hmm.... heard from ping that she will be at the secondary school's chalet with her mommy (zhen) and daddy. hmm... dun know if they will still be around when i reach the chalet after my seminar.
singapore is definitely a very small place. think i can safely post this blog as my colleague din have my blog address.
well, i had a meeting with my colleague's boyfriend cum husband to be to talk about some insurance and investiment thingy. Was very surprised to find out that this guy was the guy whom i have kinda admired during my nyp days in year 1 (ring any bell huijuan?) .. hmm... felt kinda funny and strange when he was introduced to mi by my colleague. hmm...
later as i was driving home, it struck mi that the guys whom i liked were those was look si wen type... hmmm....
remember the deputised nursing manager whom i have mentioned in the last entry?
yup, she is one of the main actresses in today's drama.
she got into an arguement with our enrolled nurse today. all becoz of replacing a bed from other room to this room meant for a collapsed case and that this room's bed's spoilt.
for this drama, there are at least 3 episodes/happenings and i happened to be one of the passerby in this drama. yup, i was there to witness the happenings, so at the end of the shift, i was called into the office to tell my the other more senior nursing manager of what i witnessed... woo...
well, will not go into details, but felt that many of this drama will happen since our previous senior nursing manager had stepped down.
have being an active volcano erupting this afternoon shift.
i was informed by my research group leader that i have being appointed to be the principal investigator for the next research project. She read our last week's meeting minute which was emailed to us last night... and she tried to confirm with me as she was not available for that minute.
as i have yet read the email, i was damn shocked and angry. WHY WAS I NOT INFORMED THAT I WILL BE THE PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR? WHY AM I THE PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR WHEN NO NAME WAS MENTIONED LAST WEEK? WHY????
I tried to reason with one of the member (our deputise nursing manager) that i will not be able to do it as i will be studying part time this july until 2 years later. Her irritating reply was that it will be good for mi as my mind will be working since i am studying unlike the others who have completed their studies. COME ON. if your mind is not working, then why you join the research team??? if your mind is not working, how can you contribute??? Why this irritating reply? WHY???
just because i contribute, analyse and voice out my opinions during the meeting i have to be the principal investigator without my consent and worse my knowledge! doesn't that the purpose for the meeting? or am i expected to sleep during the meeting? why is this thing happening? WHY???
it is hard to cope with full time work and part time study already. why want me to be the principal investigator?? Am I immortal that i won't fall sick and i dun need to sleep??? WHY???
why is it that the managers (deputised or not) always like to assign mi to nurse this MRSA and potentially legal case patient when the patient's wife like me? talking to pt's wife is my job, building a rapport is my job. but aren't these other nurses' job as well?
Most of my assignments have being nursing him. many nurses have fallen ill when nursing him when i was on leave. My MC rate have being high last year (7 days) and i was penalised for that in my performance appraisal! and now the managers want mi to nurse him continuously and penalise mi if i fall sick?!
when one of my colleagues approached the deputised nursing manager to change my tomorrow's assignment (that is to nurse this patient again), the deputised manager said "that is continunity of care". WHAT THE HELL!!! her continuity means having to nurse him almost everyday before my leave, and then almost everyday after my leave? why are they doing this? WHY???
dun they know that i have valve problem? what if i got vegetation of my mitral valve? will they be responsible for it? what if i die from it? will they take care of my parents, save their agony? why can't they think? WHY???
being to the NATAS fair on friday and saturday, finally decided to tour taiwan instead of Perth and Beijing with my family in July. Very excited now coz it was a long longtime since we went for a family tour trip.... Hope the bird flu thingy will not affect this family trip.
Think we will go Beijing next year, Sidney the year after next and Jerusalem on the following year. hee hee...
For this trip, I will be buying a new digital camera, but have to wait for the June PC show or have to buy it in July before the trip just to wait for the price to drop.
After going for the NATAS fair on Sat, mi meet up with KK, serene, XY and bf, ad lynnette. Finally got to meet up wth lynnette after her many MIA... hahaha... well, enjoyed myself that day esp with serene's "missy, princess bebe (a real princess from kuwait) and the helicopter" stories... oh serene also went to the last campcraft competition held over at the NPCC HQ in PA at Thomson... hmm... brought back lots of memories...
Lynnette, mi, serene, xinying
As for Sunday, i have took one day leave so that i can go to johor with my family to go to my grandma's tombsite... hmm... for the qingming jie thingy, but accordin to my mom this today is just one day before qingming... well... watever bah.
After the trip from Johor, my family napped and then we drove to ang mo kio for dinner and ordered butter crab to celebrate bro's birthday in advance. Man! the crab is damn tasty!!!! Highly recommended: there are 2 branches: both located at the coffee shop: think they are at blk 232 and 233 at ang mo kio st 22. nice nice.
Just received an email from sistic regarding its lastest addition.
Pam Oei will be holding her solo performance at the esplanade for 2 nights (28 and 29 April). Her guests include Selena Tan and Emma Yong (both from the dim sum dollies).
Price is at $25 and it's free seating. This 25 bucks also cover a complimentary post show drink and light snack.
Personally I like Pam Oei as she is damn funny and in fact I think I have went to many theatre plays with her in the play.
this was the email i have recieved from my senior nursing manager which she has sent via the nhc email address at aboout 8.30pm.
in this email, she thanked all of us for the support and cooporation which we have given.
many thoughts came into my mind and sadden mi that she has resigned cum early retirement.
especially in my first year in nursing in CTSICU, she had protected mi from being bullied by certain nurses. She would call me at home after I took leave because of the bully incidents. I think i may not be working as a nurse in ctsicu without her support for me.
Today's the last ward meeting conducted by her which was held at 2pm. I wanted to attend but was too tired to go as I was on sleeping and had slept till 7pm. Anyway, mi called sin yein to find out what happened to the meeting just now.
Well, sister Hou, you have gained my respect throughout the years and I have learnt a lot from you. God bless!
Academic calender (tentative) for this July intake is out
Yes! I can now go book tour packages with my family liao since now I have got the reply from SIM regarding the academic calender for the whole 2 years liao.... wow... which means, i can now plan for my annual leaves for the next 2 years liao!!!
Kinda looking forward to going back to school.... but minus the part time study full time work part... sheesh...
Anyway, tmr the icu will be holding a farewell party (or event rather than party) for our beloved senior nursing manager. I am on day off tmr but will still go down early to help out... hee hee... Hope all will be fine tmr.
BTW, one more potential service quality nomination for mi from my patient's wife!!! Apparently, this patient's family members are damn difficult customers... but cannot blame them for being too difficult for the many unhappy events that had happened to the patient and family. In fact the hospital's corporate affairs was also roped in to handle many tricky issues.
